Best Beaches in Tel Aviv

Top Beaches in Israel

As a private tour guide of Tel Aviv, I am getting asked a lot, What are the best beaches in Tel Aviv? And to be honest, Tel Aviv has some of the most fantastic beaches this country can offer to tourists. Also, since Tel Aviv is quite small getting to the shoreline is, in most cases, just a walking distance. Tel Aviv has about 5 miles of coastline; all are public with restaurants, bars, and tanning beds. What do you need more, right? So let’s start exploring the best beaches in Tel Aviv.

The Best Beaches in Tel Aviv

So, first on my top beaches in Tel Aviv will be Hilton Beach! Along with the gay scene, you can get windsurfing and kayaking classes at the Sea Center Club. Even beginners can come and try since the staff is very experienced and knows the job well. There you also have different restaurants, so spending some time at the Hilton Beach for sure is a great option.

Jerusalem Beach

Jerusalem Beach is just next to Geula St., which is another option. The advantage is that you can get there by public transportation quite quickly. The downside of this beach is first these rackets Israelis like to play at the beach. Dozens of Israelis play it on the very shoreline, which is quite annoying, to be honest. So if a quiet place you’re looking for, this is not it.

Gordon Beach

Also one of my favorite beaches in Tel Aviv. Easy to spot due to all the volleyball courts and there you also have a fabulous saltwater swimming pool. Nearby restaurants are serving the typical Israeli oversized portions of sandwiches, Breakfast, and salads. If you come in the evening to the beach, you’ll enjoy outdoor beach bars, drinks, and fun music.

Bograshaov Beach

Just next to Gordon Beach both are a mish-mash of locals and tourists. If you want to get familiarized with the locals and get to know TLV, check out one of these beaches on a Friday or Saturday in the summertime. To become a local, you only need to spread your mat or get a chair. Order some beer and play the notorious racketball Israelis play at the shoreline.

Jaffa Beach

Last but not least is Jaffa Beach. There are no lifeguards and no beds to lay on top. Very quiet (relatively) and more isolated than the rest of the beaches of Tel Aviv which are quite crowded. From there, you have a beautiful view over the hill that consists of Old City Jaffa, including the Church of St. Peter rising from above. To the south of the beach is an area designated for dog owners where you can let your dog runoff.
