Meet Israeli Soldiers

Bucket List Experiences

Let’s Meet Israeli Soldiers! But before I want to talk about the I.D.F! The backbone of any country not only lies with its leaders; its policies and its people. But also with those who are willing to sacrifice their lives to keep their country safe. The I.D.F is one of the most well-known forces globally; even though it has been around for less than a century!

Shortly after the Israeli Declaration of Independence was formally proclaimed at what is now Independence Hall, the soon-to-be first Prime Minister of Israel, David Ben-Gurion, united the various Jewish militias into the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). Despite its short history, the IDF has faced many military operations, making it one of the most battle-trained armed forces in the world. In addition to being battle-tested, the IDF is famous for its mandatory conscription of women, its weapon development, and its creation of the Krav Maga fighting style.

Meet Israeli Soldiers:Friends of the I.D.F

Grand militaries are only as strong as their support system; the IDF has one of the best support pillars. The Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF) is designed to change the lives of IDF soldiers, veterans, and their families through their six pillars of strength: education, financial relief, construction, lone soldiers, fallen & wounded, and adopting a brigade.

Anyone can help support the FIDF. The FIDF has opportunities available for you to donate, send gifts, become a guardian, start a campaign, and create or join a local chapter. When exploring Israel, you can join an FIDF mission to get an inside look at the IDF, its history, mission, and, most importantly, its soldiers.

Meet Israeli Soldiers: Join the FIDF!

So come! Because you can join an FIDF mission and travel alongside Israel’s heroes. Each year they hold various missions, including the Women’s Mission, the From Holocaust to Independence Mission; the Young Leadership Mission; the National Mission, and the Cycling Mission. Each mission offers a behind-the-scenes look at the IDF. You will have the opportunity to tour normally off-limit bases; listen to top officials, and meet with Israeli soldiers.

During this one-on-one with Israeli soldiers, you will be able to speak with them about what it is like to protect Israel, what their service means, and how valuable your support and encouragement are to them. It is a fantastic opportunity for supporters of Israel, Jews and non-Jews alike, to meet IDF Soldiers and demonstrate their solidarity.
