The Scots Hotel Tiberias

Luxury Hotels in Israel

Nestled on the shores of the Sea of Galilee, the Scots Hotel Tiberias is a luxurious boutique hotel that promises an unforgettable stay. Seamlessly blending Israeli and Scottish heritage, the hotel is based in a beautifully restored 19th-century hospital overlooking the Golan Heights. Run by a Scottish surgeon, it was the first hospital in Tiberias and still maintains its elegant and graceful design.

The Scots Hotel Tiberias has exquisitely appointed guest rooms, and suites have every luxury from en-suite bathrooms and designer décor to plasma televisions and spectacular panoramic views of Lake Galilee. Surrounded by lush gardens and grassy lawns that extend down to the Sea of Galilee, the hotel has a seasonal swimming pool area with sun loungers and spectacular views over the lake.

The Scots Hotel Tiberias: The Hotel Amenities

Nestled in the gardens is a luxury spa and health center where you can enjoy a range of deluxe treatments. Enjoy a unique therapeutic experience in the traditional Turkish Hammam. Treat yourself to a pampering massage or facial in a treatment room designed for couples and individuals.

Dining is a delight at the Scots Hotel Tiberias, where you can experience a culinary journey that features Israeli cuisine with influences from Scotland and is prepared using Galilean cooking traditions. Furthermore, the Torrance Restaurant is located in what was once the hospital’s maternity wing and boasts breathtaking views over the gardens. Book a table on the restaurant’s balcony for beautiful views.

Another fantastic feature at the Scots Hotel Tiberias is the Saint Urban Wine Cellar & Bar. The bar was painstakingly converted from a basalt building into the beautiful room it is today, with what was once the old hospital stove now being a prestigious wine cellar. In Addition, a seasonal wine menu features a handpicked collection of the best Israeli and international wines, and a selection of small to medium dishes is available to pair with the wines. Low lighting and a romantic ambiance make this a lovely pre-or post-dinner drink spot.

The Ceilidh Bar in the David building’s luxurious lobby offers an excellent range of Scottish whiskeys and gin from distilleries worldwide. You can also enjoy live music, singing, dancing, and workshops about Scottish whisky production.

Last, The Scots Hotel Tiberias has an art gallery with original quality works of Jewish, Muslim, and Christian artists, mainly from the Galilee region. Three rotating exhibitions feature Israeli artists’ works, including handcrafted jewelry, objets d’art, sculptures, and paintings. A link to their website.
