Yotvata Hai-Bar Nature Reserve

Destinations in Israel

Yotvata Hai-Bar Nature Reserve is a revolutionary park that has restored once locally extinct animals back into the region. For many years, the animals that were once common in this land slowly dwindled away with the spread of humanity. Luckily, the Yotvata Hai-Bar Nature Reserve has taken action to reverse the damage by designing a park solely to breed and foster these fascinating desert creatures.

When visiting the park, you will have the opportunity to learn about and observe these unique creatures in their natural habitats while also supporting the reserve’s mission. You can be a part of the change, an advocate for wildlife preservation, simply by adding this spectacular destination to your tour of Israel. I highly recommend that you join me on a private tour of this magnificent location so that you may fully appreciate the efforts of the parks and the progress they have made with these splendid animals.

More About Yotvata Hai-Bar Nature Reserve

Yotvata Hai-Bar Nature Reserve is designed to breed, care for, and restore endangered and locally extinct animals. So far, the reserve has reinstated two species, the onager (also known as the Asian wild ass) and the Arabian oryx. Today, they are still working on reinstating various species of gazelles and ostriches. Many of the animals here are mentioned within the Bible, but that is not all.

Arabian Oryx

Yotvata Hai-Bar Nature Reserve also cares for other animals from around the globe that need help. While touring the reserve; you will be able to observe the sand cat; Arabian wolf; the Griffon vulture, the South African cheetah; the Persian leopard; and many more. A day trip to this reserve is an excellent choice for all types of travelers as you will have the opportunity to learn about the importance of animal preservation.

Horned Oryx

Yotvata Hai-Bar Nature Reserve is split into three different sectors; each with its own category of animals. The first section is the Open Area, where you can slowly drive through the park in your car. The animals featured here are herbivores that enjoy munching the local plant life and lying in the shade of the large trees.

Asain Wild Ass

The second section is for predators called the Predators Center. Here, animals such as wild cats, hyenas, and reptiles are kept in enclosures. Lastly, there is the Desert Night Life Exhibition Hall. This darkroom is where visitors can observe and learn about the creatures of the night, such as bats and barn owls. When visiting Yotvata Hai-Bar Nature Reserve, we suggest that you arrive early enough so that you can see all three sections during your visit.
