Israel's Shoreline Top Parks

Explore the Holy Land

In this post, we would explore Israel’s Shoreline Top Parks. If you’re coming to tour Israel you should read this! So let’s begin with one of the most famous parks in Israel! Of course, I am referring to Caesarea National Park.

The city and harbor were built under Herod the Great. Then it became the provincial capital of Roman Judea. Furthermore, the city was populated throughout the 1st to 6th centuries CE and became an important early center of Christianity during the Byzantine period. After being re-fortified, it was conquered by the Crusaders; who strengthened and made it into an important port.

Israel’s Shoreline Top Parks: Nahal Me’arot

Another of Israel’s Shoreline Top Parks is Nahal Me’arot National Park. The Caves of Nahal Me’arot are a UNESCO Site of Human Evolution in the Carmel mountain. In fact, the caves were used for habitation by hominins and prehistoric humans. Also, they contain unique evidence of very early burials. The sequence of prehistoric settlements in Nahal Maarot is particularly long and full. The unique finds discovered at the site (as important human fossils) and the excavations that have been going on intermittently for over eighty years; have made the site one of the best known in the world from the Paleolithic period.

Israel’s Shoreline Top Parks: Rosh HaNikra Grottoes

The Rosh HaNikra grottoes are cavernous tunnels formed by sea action on the soft chalk rock. For many years though, the only access to the grottoes was from the sea and the native swimmers and divers were the only ones capable of visiting. The 400 meters long tunnel dug in 1968 between the grottoes and slightly above sea level allowed easier access, and soon after a cable car was built to take visitors down from the top of the cliff to the tunnels. With a 60-degree gradient; this cable car is advertised as the steepest in the world.

So you should check these parks out if you have time. Of course, having a private tour guide would enhance your visit. But I am leaving it to you to get in touch!
