Flam Winery

Best Wineries in Israel

So Flam Winery was established in 1998 by Golan and Gilad Flam and their mother Kami to produce wine in Israel at the highest international level. The whole family joined in the realization of the vision and mobilized their experience and talent. Furthermore, their father Israel, the pioneers of the local wine industry; from whom they absorbed their love for wine, and Geffen, their younger sister, had faith in the marketing media. The winery is 20 minutes away from Jerusalem. So if you’re on the way there or planning to tour the city consider visiting there.

Golan’s intimate acquaintance, the winery’s winemaker, with every plot and vine and his determination to combine traditional manual practices to get the best out of the vineyards, together with the accumulated family experience; recognition, and international successes, established Flem as a family winery with a tradition of excellence.

About Flam Winery

The story of Flam Winery is the story of a family. A family that has been living, breathing and producing wine for over 50 years. The winery is located in the heart of the Judean Hills, surrounded by its vineyards, facing the spectacular view of the Jerusalem mountains, and functions as a classic family estate in the European model.

At the base of the vision of Flam Winery are the vineyards. Unlike many other wineries, Flam Winery grows the exact same vineyard plots, year after year. Continuity breeds an intimate acquaintance with the vineyards, which enables the production of authentic wines, which faithfully represent their habitat. In this way, it is easy to distinguish between the wines of the Clásico series that originate in the Judean Mountains and the wines of the Reserve series, which are born in the best vineyard plots in the Upper Galilee.

The father of the family, Israel Flam, served as the chief winemaker at Carmel Winery for many years and was a pioneer of modern winemaking in Israel. His eldest son, Golan, was born in the vineyards of Stellenbosch, South Africa, where his fate was decided and his future as a winemaker. The business experience of their mother Kami is what enabled the establishment of the winery and its professional and commercial development alike. Little sister Geffen has been born into a reality where wine is part of the family DNA and has joined the family business as the creative side.
