Weizmann Institute

The Weizmann Institute of Science is a world-famous public research university in Rehovot. Established in 1934, the Weizmann Institute of Science is a multidisciplinary research center that offers postgraduate degrees in the natural and exact sciences.



History of the Weizmann Institute of Science

So before talking about Levinson Visitor’s Center, let’s talk about the founder! Chaim Weizmann established the Weizmann Institute of Science in 1934 as the Daniel Sieff Research Institute. Weizmann took directorship of the institute and pursued his research in organic chemistry at its laboratories before he became President of the State of Israel in February 1949.

The state-of-the-art Levinson Visitors Center is the gateway to the Institute, and visitors can tour the Weizmann Institute of Science on guided tours. Get a unique view into the unique nature of scientific investigation and discovery at the Institute and learn about the significant role the institute plays in Israeli science and technology.

The Levinson Visitors Center features a state-of-the-art multi-media presentation and technologically advanced exhibits that take the visitor on a journey of knowledge and discovery. Learn about the fascinating world of scientists who uncover nature’s secrets and decipher the universe’s codes.

The Center also has a small souvenir shop with a selection of items.

Visiting Hours

Sunday – Thursday, 9:00-4:00 pm.

The visit is free of charge but must be coordinated in advance.
